We'll be taking a short break from October 10 until October 31. Running a one-woman business has its perks, but one of its cons is that when I'm down, everything is down. I'm having a minor hernia repair surgery that I've been putting off, but it's a necessity now. I have a couple of weeks after that I have to take it easy, so I'm putting both our website and Etsy shop on hold. I'll definitely be working on my computer while laid up in bed so that both of our shops will be ready for the holiday rush when we get back. We'll have new products and more monogram options for you to make ordering gifts even easier.
Thanks so much for your patience and continued patronage. We appreciate it more than you know!

Is it just us or is it time for some cooler weather and a change in seasons? We're celebrating the end of summer with a coupon code for 15% off of your entire purchase on here as well as on any purchase made in our Etsy store. You can use coupon code ENDOFSUMMER15. It'll expire next Friday, August 29, 2015.
Thank you for a great, busy summer! We're already gearing up for the fall and holidays here at Fine Thread Art. This could even be a good time to get some early Christmas gifts to stow away in the closet and lessen your financial hit come December.
We're always open to new ideas, so if you're looking for certain gifts or need suggestions for what to get for a certain age, guy, girl, etc... be sure to message us online. We're all over! Find us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Etsy, even Pinterest!

So, if you keep up with us on any of the social media outlets, I'm sure you've seen that we have a LOT going on right now (possibly understatement of the year). Not only are we building a brand new home office to house Fine Thread Art, we also have our first baby on the way, due in just a few short months (August to be exact). I currently work out of our front bedroom that had been converted to my home office but truly needs to be converted into our little girl's nursery, stat!
With that being said, I originally thought I'd take orders until July 1st... but I think 6 weeks before my due date is seriously pushing it (no pun intended), especially considering we have the monumental task of moving everything from one spot to the other as well as getting the baby's room ready for her arrival. So, I'm thinking the cut off time will probably fall around Friday, June 13th. That way, I can have the last couple of weeks of June to get all of my open orders out rather than still having 3 weeks of work ahead of me at the beginning of July. It just makes more sense.
Although I love what I do, the reality of being too tired to do anything when the afternoon comes is really setting in now. It's time to make some real decisions that keep my stress level as far down as possible to also try to keep my blood pressure and overall health in check. I'm so appreciative of all of the support that I've had from customers so far these past 4 years, and I look forward to getting back into the swing of things after my little one is here. Right now, I'm going to say I'll be closed until the fall, at least until October. We'll make the decision to open back up after that time when things settle down and life gets back to a new normal.
I appreciate getting to do what I do each day, and I know that it's a hard-earned privilege. I'm thankful that I'll be able to provide a second income for our family even after baby Adeline joins the family while still being able to stay home with her as she grows. I'm so grateful for all of our loyal customers over the years, and I anticipate seeing you all again in the fall when I come back! Keep in touch in the mean time, and I'll do the same!

Happy October, friends!
Is it just me, or is this year flying by at break-neck speeds? I really feel like it was just Christmas of LAST year. Time flies when you're busy, I guess. After the total craziness of last year's holiday season, it really has me trying to think of more efficient ways to handle this year's Christmas season. One thing that I've been doing is slowly stocking up on products that I know will make great, easy gifts. I know this may seem like a no-brainer, but I have limited space where I work now in my home office. So, I can't keep lots of sizes and colors in clothing because my customers buy such a huge variety of items! I'm going the opposite way and stocking up on bags, scarves, hats, koozies, etc. This helps you as well because you won't have to guesstimate what size your giftee will need (always stressful!!). I've also got a few super, super cute toiletry bags for guys... perfect for your dad or that uncle who you can't quite ever figure out what to buy for him. More pics of that to come... ;)
My goal is to get allllll of these good things up and ready to sell in the month of October so that you have plenty of time to shop before Christmas. I've pretty much famous for starting my Christmas shopping in, ohhh... August?? People think I'm crazy when I say that, but my thoughts are start early, spread your budget, and shop smart! I keep one designated box or large rubbermaid container for Christmas gifts. If I see something online or at a store that could work for someone on my list, I pick it up then and there. Then, as soon as I get home, it goes right into the Christmas gift bin. I've tried to do this without the container, and I forget where I put gifts!! So, if you're a bit forgetful like I am... get the container. Trust me. I also try to group things together for people that I'm shopping for so that it's easy to see exactly what's in there just by taking a quick look. It really helps budget-wise as well. No matter how much I try to plan for costs around the holidays, there will always be that extra get-together or baking supply (they add up!!) or someone that I may have forgotten to get something for. So, it makes me feel better knowing that my costs have been spread out between 3 or 4 months rather than one big hit financially in December. Plus, let's not forget the crazy crowds in every. single. store. closer to the holidays.
Here's a quick peek of things to come this month...
I hope to see you back for your holiday shopping... or just shopping for yourself. I won't tell anyone! ;)

Alright... if you're reading this, that means our website is LIVE!! SO exciting! It took a while to get the hang of this site after using Etsy for so long, but I think I've finally figured things out. ;)
I will still keep my Etsy shop since it's so easy to use, and there are so many customers who are already used to the Etsy format. So, don't worry! You can still find us at http://www.etsy.com/shop/finethreadart as well.
It's definitely been an extremely busy summer so far. The embroidery machines are running like crazy these days! I'm excited to be able to bring this site to you to add to the things we can offer as an embroidery and personalization business. I enjoy hearing your feedback about things you're looking for or customization for your particular needs. Hopefully, this will just allow us to keep growing and learning, which means more options for YOU the customer.
So, let me officially welcome you to the new www.finethreadart.com. Thanks for stopping by, and come back soon!
Fine Thread Art
Well, here we are... jumping into the abyss of our own website and web store. Although we've operated on local levels and now primarily on Etsy, we wanted to have another resource to sell things that our customers want. This business began as a home-based business, and it has really stayed that way for the past 3 years. However, we're outgrowing our space! It's time to expand on the web front to allow us to showcase what Fine Thread Art can really do for you.
We love the community of Etsy, so we will keep our store there as well for as long as possible. This will be an outlet for more specialized items and brands. We are authorized dealers of Croakies, Oilfield Camo, Eddie Bauer Fishing Shirts, and so much more, which don't work with the Etsy rules for sellers. All in all, we're just hoping that this spot can be an area that you can come to find out what's going on with the business, what's new, and what's right for You!
This site will definitely be *under construction* for a while as we navigate the ins and outs of selling online without the third party aspect of Etsy. So, hopefully, you can stick with us and come back as we learn more!
Thank you so much for your interest in our business, and please come back again to see how we grow.
